Great Yackandandah Jam Project

Community members of all ability levels are encouraged to participate in the Great Yackandandah Jam project that involves multitudes of people playing a range of instruments and singing.

The musical piece to be performed as a highlight of the Yackandandah Folk Festival on March 15th 2008 will be a creative extension of the recent Y-Talk report that reflects the uniqueness of life in Yackandandah.

The composition, commissioned by the Yackandandah Folk Festival through funding from the Festivals Australia Regional Residencies program, will be composed and directed by community music champions and members of acclaimed folk group Blackwood James Rigby and Jane Thompson who have recently researched and gathered local stories and material that has inspired their creative work.
